Family means something to us at Pride. When you come to work for us, you become part of our family. We look out for each other, we care about each other. When the going gets tough you can always count on your Pride family.
Our company's culture is unique. We truly have an open door policy and encourage everyone to know each other's names. After all, we may spend more time here than we do at home. We want people to enjoy work and and to know the people they interact with day in and day out. There’s also the fact that the founder of the company is a truck driver first , businessman second. This distinction has created an environment that understands the importance of the individual first, rather than the company. Many of our non-driving staff have their CDLs, which includes our founder and CFO. How many trucking companies can say that?
There are many words we can use to describe our company's values. However, we narrowed it down to the five most important:
From our drivers to our mechanics, there is nothing more important than making sure our employees are safe. We know the great responsibility we have hiring the best of the best to operate, maintain and support our fleet.
Each person has a responsibility to be knowledgeable in the respective positions. There’s more to driving a truck than most people understand. Additionally, those that support our drivers are expected to know their jobs inside and out in order to support our fleet.
This is what differentiates us from others. Our expectation is that we have a good working environment, one where people want to come to work. Good old fashioned being kind and polite to each other is what has preserved our culture over the last 38 years. Trucking is a rough environment, so we expect that any interaction that is bad between company employees, is respectful. We want people to feel like they are at home.
Trucking is unique in that most of our employees are out on the road for weeks on end, with expensive equipment and freight. A traveling billboard so to speak. We rely on those individuals to always do the right thing and represent our company in a professional manner.
Trucking is a lifestyle, not a Monday through Friday, 9 to 5 job. It requires a lot of work from our drivers to our non-drivers. We never close. We’re open 24/7. If our drivers are out on the road all day and all hours, we ensure they will have the resources and support when it’s needed.
Pride Transport is committed to provide its employees with a challenging and rewarding opportunity for success. The experience and dedication of quality employees, who take PRIDE in the performance of their duties, will allow Pride Transport to maintain the highest quality of transportation services available for its customers.
From our founders, to our drivers, to the support people in the office, Pride has an extensive, highly experienced team working together to do the job right. Our passion for excellence is shared by all members of our team, our team is 620 strong and each one plays a critical role in helping our company succeed.
Read MorePride was founded from a love of trucking in 1979. Jeff England was born into trucking and diesel has always coursed through his veins. He’s always had a passion for beautiful trucks with lots of chrome. He and his wife, Pat, seized the opportunity to branch out on their own and buy their first truck. Within a few years, they had added a couple of trucks and rebranded to Pride Transport Inc. While growing the company, Jeff placed an emphasis on his staff and his image. Through the years of growth, Pride had maintained a focus on our people first, culture and beautiful equipment. Jeff always took pride as a truck driver first. He still loves to trucking regularly and, in 2012, he passed the ownership and day to day oversight of the company to his only son, Jay England. Pride was founded on a family tradition and continues the same way today with many of Jeff and Pat’s children and grandchildren involved in the business.
