Pay: $45,760-$58,240 annual salary (DOE) + discretionary departmental incentives.

Position Summary: This position will assist the Safety Director in leading the company’s regulatory compliance, risk management, and safety training initiatives and programs. The position’s primary responsibilities will revolve around executing and sustaining the Company’s safety training program and delivering and communicating timely and relevant safety training sessions to our professional drivers and non-driving employees. The position will be instrumental in promoting a safe, accident- and injury-free workplace. In addition, the position, through a cooperative and collaborative communication style, will coordinate and conduct regular facilities safety inspections to proactively identify hazards and ensure compliance with applicable state and federal workplace safety standards (OSHA). - Conducts and documents safety training as assigned or required by policy, including but not limited to initial/orientation, refresher, remedial and corrective action safety training
- Identifies at-risk drivers and ensures they receive proactive safety training and corrective action
- Conducts and documents driver road tests, annual safety certification ride-alongs and skills proficiency evaluations in compliance with established Company standards
- Coordinates and conducts compliance audits to identify potential hazards and helps ensures compliance with all applicable workplace safety rules and regulations
- Coordinates and conducts safety training and inspection programs as assigned
- Assists in the development, implementation, and sustainability of Company safety programs, policies, and initiatives, including the development of new training solutions as needed
- Assists the Compliance Specialist in regulatory compliance requirements and recordkeeping, including hours of service auditing and driver counseling/coaching, annual review of drivers, etc.
- Serves as liaison between drivers and management (a driver advocate and Company spokesperson)
- Performs all duties with “safety-first” in mind

- Attendance is an essential job function
- Class A CDL w/ all applicable endorsements w/ a minimum of five years professional driving experience in an OTR environment
- Zero preventable accidents involving a commercial motor vehicle
- Experience as a driver training/lead driver preferred
- Proficient knowledge/understanding of applicable federal and state motor carrier and workplace safety regulations (FMCSR, CSA & OSHA), or willing to learn same
- Acceptable communication, presentation, and training skills to interact and train professional drivers as well as non-driver employees
- Ability to carry out assigned tasks to completion with minimal supervision
- Effective written communication skills
- Effective analytical, organization and prioritization skills
- Basic proficiency in MS Office applications – especially PowerPoint
- Accident investigation experience or willing to learn same
- Professional defensive driving certification (i.e. Smith System Trainer)
- Experience or training in the following skills:
- Employee relations
- Conflict resolution
- Promoting the company’s culture, i.e. “the PRIDE way.”
- Self-motivated
